So excited to share that my first (!) home feature with Houzz.com has now been published. The piece features a vintage-style loft apartment found in Over-the-Rhine, Cincinnati.
“Lauren Bowen and Justin Warwick are guided by the decorating philosophy that every piece counts. Their compact 650-square-foot brick loft in Cincinnati is filled with multipurpose vintage pieces and special finds that add rich texture to the 1865 brick walls.”
Head on over to Houzz.com to read the full feature and see more images.
Below you will find answers to some of the most commonly asked questions. If you don’t see the answer to your question, hop on over to the Contact page and let me know. I do my best to respond to every inquiry within 48 hours, so if you don’t hear from me, please send an email directly to [email protected].
We love your work but our event isn’t in the Midwest. Do you travel?
I think you would be hard-pressed to find a wedding photographer that doesn’t travel these days and I am, of course, no different. But unlike most wedding photographers, I do all the work for you. I make my own travel arrangements, arrive a day or two early, and include multiple day coverage for weekend getaways. This way, everything gets covered and you don’t need to worry about a thing. Because you’ve hired a wedding photographer you trust and I take care of myself, you can worry about more important things (like getting married, for instance).
Will you (Sarah) personally shoot our wedding? Do you bring extra photographers?
If you hire Parisi Images to photograph your event, I (Sarah) will be the one behind the lens. I photograph all events on my own, but may bring an assistant to your event should I feel it be necessary. If you want to make sure your event is captured from different angles, I also work with a handful of carefully chosen second-shooters, all of whom are professional photographers in their own right. If this is something you are interested in, please let me know!
Do you shoot video?
At this point, Parisi Images only offers still photography. Please contact us for personal recommendations on videographers for your special event.
How long have you been a wedding photographer? Did you go to school for this?
I photographed my first wedding in 2006 and have been growing ever since! And why, yes, I did study art in college where I received a B.S. in both photography and graphic design. I’m lucky to be is one of those rare people who still uses her degree everyday. (And I wouldn’t have it any other way!)
What kind of equipment do you use
I photograph all of weddings with professional-grade Canon cameras and lenses.
Why should we invest in an album?
It’s my fervent opinion that images are meant to be experienced. In this digital age, we often forget the physical nature of photography. Because I’d truly hate to see your memories trapped on a computer monitor, Parisi Images offers several products to bring your story to life. I believe that photography is best viewed in person, in real life. They’re best experienced with each of your senses. Do you remember eagerly looking at your parents’ wedding album? The tactile sensation of turning the pages; the smell of leather, dust, and binding glue; hearing your mom exclaim “can you believe my hair back then!” At Parisi Images, I seek to recreate this experience for you and your family.
We want to hire you to photograph our wedding! Now what?
That’s great news! I’m excited (and honored) to celebrate your story with you. Please contact me to obtain a contract. A signed contract and a 50% non-refundable deposit officially reserves Parisi Images for your event. The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to the event.
We are excited to announce that Sarah Parisi Dowlin is now contracted with Houzz.com, a leading home remodeling and interior design platform that provides readers with everything they need to improve their homes from start to finish. Sarah will be contributing to the My Houzz series, documenting “creative, personality-filled homes and the people who inhabit them.”
This opportunity will be one part of our larger offerings focused on shaping, sharing and celebrating the stories of your life. We are excited to connect with Cincinnati homeowners who have a passion for design and place-making.
Do you have a “creative, personality-filled home”?
Are you the owner of a space that inspires and delights? Or have you recently completed a home remodeling project and want to show it off? We are looking for homes to document in and around the Cincinnati area and would love to connect if you or someone you know might be a good fit. Please get in touch with Sarah as soon as possible for consideration. (For samples of past home tours published by Houzz, visit My Houzz.)*
*Note: your home does not have to be perfect. In fact, homes with character, meaning, and a sense of the owner’s personal story make for great contributions. If you are not sure your home would qualify but are willing to share, please get in touch.
Every Tuesday evening for the past three years, I’ve gathered with a group of girls. We share stories from our week. We share dinner. We share our hopes for the future. And, most importantly, we share life.
The group is centered around our values, namely those of living for and following Jesus. We help hold each other accountable in this area, to encourage one another in the pursuit of a Christian life.
Last night, these girls modeled our values to me in such a powerful and tangible way. Responding to the news of some financial challenges facing my growing family, they banded together and gifted us with an entire month’s worth of groceries. An entire month’s… and then some!
More than the groceries, it was the selfless generosity they modeled to me that moved me to tears. It is their active living of our values and our intentions that endears me to hold tight to these treasured friendships.
It just so happens that today was when I planned to share the newly minted core values for Parisi Images. In reality, these values have been years in the making and are only now being shared in any type of public declaration. As Parisi Images faces some big and exciting changes in 2018 (more to come on that soon!), this publication is meant to act as a cornerstone. A place of accountability and promise. With values as ambitious as these, we know we won’t always be living our values 100% of the time. But we are committed to the process of growing in these areas and focusing on them as benchmarks of who we are and who we want to be.
With gratitude, we recognize the gifts we’ve received and choose to respond with generosity. We recognize that this choice requires vulnerability, risk and expectation. We lean into the process of uncovering the unique gifts we have to offer our clients and to the world and support our clients in discovering the same. We aim to die empty.
We make space for you and your story to reveal itself as you share with us your histories and your dreams. We walk with you and for you. There is always time for coffeÂe.
We are honest and transparent. We value boundaries and believe well-chosen boundaries allow trust to develop. We respect our own boundaries as much as those of our clients and respect the value we offer our clients.
We believe in the abundant life and fight fiercely for joy – for that place of knowing that we are living out of our gifts in their fullest form. We believe that in living these values we can expect and anticipate joy, not only for ourselves but for others as well. We champion for your success and celebrate the small wins. We laugh.
