Right now you feel stuck dealing with a disjointed, mix-and-don't-match collection of images that make it impossible to build a cohesive brand much less support your biggest asset – your people. #sigh
→ At least one employee’s headshot is a cropped photo from the last wedding they attended (but hey, a professional take it!).
→ The iPhone and selfie-stick have become indispensable office tools (one-third of your employees are from the #selfiegeneration, after all).
→ And, the last time your CEO sat for a professional headshot was 5 years and 15 pounds ago. (And he still talks about how it was a terrible experience.)
Let me guess:
The good news? You can clean up the mess, no broom required.
What you need is a photographer who works with you to create consistent, casual and relatable professional headshots that capture each employee’s expertise and confidence.
Consider this:
97% of your employees would rather go to the dentist than be asked to pose for a corporate headshot.
*Informal statistic based on tens years of personal inquiry with my own subjects. I don't have anything against dentists, but a root canal over a portrait?! You and I have our work cut out for us.
Introducing
Modern and personal (but still professional) corporate headshots that build your brand's equity and your client's trust.
In other words, portraits you are proud to share on your company's website and that your employees actually want to use on their LinkedIn profiles.
Don't be fooled.
THE "CORPORATE HEADSHOT" IS HARD TO GET RIGHT.
Choose a headshot approach and style that aligns with your brand.
Employee headshots are a critical brand asset and should be captured in the spirit of your other brand assets. Any successful headshot strategy begins with a clear style guide.
Layout is 100% critical in creating visual appeal when working with multiple headshots.
Align each person’s crown, eye-line, and chin line to bring visual consistency to otherwise inconsistent images.
Understand how to create consistency through variety.
Consistency doesn't mean every headshot has to look exactly the same. The best way to blend several portraits captured in a single day while also planning for future headshots is to create image variety from the get-go.
Consider additional portraits for executive leadership.
High-profile leadership team members should have multiple lifestyle and formal portraits to use throughout their own social media and company-sponsored accounts as a way to build thought leadership and increase brand awareness.
With nearly 15 years of photography, branding, and marketing on my resume, my approach to headshot photography is tried-and-true (and truly unique).
School picture day goes adulting.
FIRST, YOU NEED A STRATEGY.
One that defines your headshots as a brand asset; accounts for individuals of all shapes, colors and sizes; and allows for your headshot collection to grow without compromising visual cohesion.
01
SECOND, EACH EMPLOYEE NEEDS TO FEEL SEEN AND SIGNIFICANT.
Let’s all acknowledge that having your photo taken is an exercise in courage and
vulnerability. My approach invites calm in place of chaos and confidence in place of
uncertainty.
02
THIRD, GETTING YOUR HEADSHOT SHOULD BE A CELEBRATION, NOT A DREADED EXERCISE IN "CORPORATE MARKETING."
True story: how an individual feels when being photographed is much more important than how they look. I help marketing leaders make sure each shoot is fun, collaborative and a “generally good time.”
03
FOURTH, AND FINALLY, YOUR HEADSHOTS SHOULD BE USED TO BUILD YOUR BRAND AND SHAPE YOUR COMPANY CULTURE.
Headshots are no longer an optional employee benefit. They are a critical piece to your content marketing plan, your new hire onboarding process, and your social proof of diversity. Done well, headshots can be used multiple times over to communicate your firm’s personal approach to your very personal work – all while building a true culture of inclusion from the ground-up.
04
Relationship-driven. Story-focused.
My imagery is people-centric, bearing witness to the significance within each one of us.
Practically speaking, this means my shoots are low production but high value. I shoot with (mostly) natural/available light; move quickly; and, above all, work hard to make the shoot fun for everyone.
Let's set you up for success.

POST-SHOOT FOLLOW UP
Having trouble getting leadership to update their LinkedIn profiles? Need an extra set of eyes
on the refreshed “Team” page? I follow up and follow through to make sure you see an ROI on
our joint efforts.
Let's face it: employee headshots are no longer a "nice to have."
Professional portraits of each team member are essential to building an inclusive brand and company culture.
The way I see it, you could...
→ Continue to practice DMV-styled mugshots in front of the office’s one brick wall using your best camera – er, phone.
→ Try cutting out the background from employee personal photos, blindly trusting that no one will notice how bad everyone’s hairline looks (spoiler alert: we notice.)
→ Hire a cheap photographer who can take pictures of everyone in 60 minutes flat (and makes everyone's smile fall flat, too).
Or, you could start building a relationship with a marketing-minded photographer who will grow with you as you grow your brand.
And my simple, no-fuss pricing makes it easy to get C-suite approval and your controller's signature.

Allows you to immediately introduce yourself and the marketing team away to every new hire, building rapport and trust in your commitment to support them in their new role.
-
Provides a professional image to introduce new hires on LinkedIn and other platforms.
-
Distinguishes your firm from employee's previous employer (who, quite likely, did not go to such lengths to offer a professional headshot).
If you were ready to meet, like, yesterday, it’s time to:
By now you may be wondering where I've been your entire life.

It's high time I show my face around here.
I’m Sarah. A tried-and-true business photographer whose images work hard for those that work hard. I boast a degree in photography but my real education has always been from inside a cubicle within the world of marketing and branding at corporate, non-profit, government and agency settings.
My work has appeared in numerous publications including Houzz.com and Edible Ohio Valley, not to mention the multiple authors who have replaced “aspiring” with “published” on their official bios because of my brand-building images. #careerwin
I live north of Cincinnati where my days are fueled by coffee (black please); my weeks energized by barre class; and my life inspired by three loves: Blake, Laura and Joanna.
OVERHEARD AT THE WATER COOLER
I am grateful to work with so many amazing Cincinnati business leaders that inspire me every day. Here are just a snippets of their conversations with me about their corporate headshot experience.
DELTA C.
Business Owner
Sarah is the consummate professional! She did a great job putting me at ease in front of the camera. I am very pleased to have new professional headshots that I will use in the print and web formats that she provided.
AMY W.
Marketing Manager
"We are rapidly growing and her expertise makes the headshot process both seamless and painless. She’s able to make every single person feel very comfortable during their session which in return leads to genuine portraits that show their true personality."
SAM M.
Communications Manager
Thank you SO much for your flexibility, not to mention, you're insanely quick on your deliverable. I couldn't be happier, or more appreciative….you are without a doubt the gold star winner of the week!

What kind of involvement will you need from me/our team for our shoot to be successful? My shoots are very much a done with you type of engagement and I will certainly guide you through every step of the process to ensure a successful shoot. I will need you to lean in with your internal knowledge of your team and culture. I will also need someone from your team available throughout the shoot to approve images, coordinate team members, and assist with the overall flow of the day.
-
Our office doesn’t reflect our current brand or isn’t that photogenic. What do you suggest?Aside from your selection of the right photographer, location is the second most critical element to a successful shoot. If your current office space does not demonstrate the company culture or brand you hope to impart (or if it suffers from a lack of natural light), I have a list of 50+ locations to inspire you and work with you to secure the best location for your session.
-
Are business headshots part of the brand session?Company Culture Brand Sessions are meant to capture first and foremost lifestyle, candid, slightly scripted imagery of your people interacting. Each session can include up to five headshots with the option to add additional time for additional headshots to your session available. When a large number of team members are involved, a separate shoot may be recommended to capture headshots in a consistent and time-efficient manner.
-
We really just need corporate headshots of our employees and executive leadership. Can you help?Yes! In addition to brand photography sessions, I offer headshots on an individual and corporate level.
-
No one in our office is a model and we all hate getting our picture taken. Will these even turn out?In over 15 years of working as photographer I have yet to work with a professional model #truestory. Which means every photo you see on my website is of “regular” folks who were just as concerned about their double chin or the ten extra pounds they put on during the pandemic. Hear me when I say this: My job is 80% helping you feel confident in front of the camera and 20% taking pictures. Your job is 80% trusting the process and 20% just showing up. #hereforyou
-
I’m on-board 100% but I need to convince our executive leadership. Can you help?As a former marketing professional myself, I am well-versed in building a rock-solid case for the C-suite to review. My proposals come ready to convince the corner office that our work together will not only make your job easier but their business more effective and yes, even more profitable
